Spanish Lessons with EPIC
Wednesdays, May 2, 2018–June 13, 2018, 5:30 PM–6:30 PM
This class is co-taught by the program director, Abby, and by bilingual EPIC (Engaging People in Change) high school students. Over the course of seven weeks, we'll read stories aloud, play games, look at verb conjugations, learn how to spell and read, all while working in a fun atmosphere that prioritizes interpersonal connections and the meaning of the culture in the language. First come first served, space is limited.
EPIC is a group of high school students from Pine Plains, Webutuck, Millbrook, and Dover who meet weekly to learn skills and change the world.
Suggested donation is $75 for community members and $100 for those with institutional support; but please give whatever is feasible for you. 100% of donations go to supporting EPIC. Checks can be made out to Grace Church with the memo "Spanish Class," and mailed to EPIC c/o Grace Church, PO Box 366, Millbrook, NY 12545.
Visiting Artist Lectures
Once per month, we bring in artists, curators, writers, and other creative professionals to give free, public lectures in Luther Barn's Auction Ring.
Last Saturday of Every Month
3:00 PM–5:00 PM
Open studios offer a once-a-month opportunity to learn about the artists in residence at the Wassaic Project. Visitors will be able to learn about the resident’s artwork, see what they've been creating, and ask questions about their craft.
There's always something happening in Wassaic. We've hosted screenings of the Creative Time Summit; panels on immigration led by EPIC; writing workshops with Elizabeth Michelman of Artscope Magazine; creative writing workshops with Aaron Zimmerman of the NY Writers Coalition, fresco workshops with artist Michael Biddle, and plenty more.
